The Yellow Zebra Pleco (L199), also known as Peckoltia sp., is a stunningly patterned pleco species native to the Rio Orinoco in Venezuela. Its body features a beautiful combination of golden-yellow and dark brown to black zebra-like stripes, creating a vivid and eye-catching appearance ideal for aquascaped aquariums.
Smaller and more peaceful than many other plecos, the Yellow Zebra Pleco thrives in community tanks with plenty of hiding spots and soft, warm, slightly acidic water. It’s relatively shy and prefers low light or shaded areas but becomes more active during feeding and at night. While it will graze on some algae, it benefits most from a varied omnivorous diet.
