Description

Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Pellets – 1000ml

Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Pellets are a biodegradable filter media designed for marine and reef aquariums, providing an effective method of reducing nitrate and phosphate through natural biological processes.

These specially developed pellets act as a carbon source for beneficial bacteria, encouraging bacterial growth and the consumption of excess nutrients within the aquarium.

Ideal for reef keepers looking to maintain low and stable nutrient levels, NP-Bacto-Pellets offer a convenient solution for long-term biological nutrient management.

Features & Benefits

  • Helps reduce nitrate (NO3) and phosphate (PO4)

  • Designed for marine and reef aquariums

  • Biodegradable polymer pellets

  • Provides a carbon source for beneficial bacteria

  • Encourages natural biological nutrient reduction

  • Helps control excess nutrients that contribute to unwanted algae growth

  • Suitable for continuous use in a dedicated pellet reactor

  • Supports stable water conditions in established reef aquariums

  • Ideal for long-term nutrient management

  • 1000ml pack

How It Works

NP-Bacto-Pellets provide a solid organic carbon source that encourages beneficial bacteria to grow on the surface of the pellets.

As the bacteria multiply, they incorporate nitrate and phosphate into their biomass, helping reduce excess nutrients within the aquarium.

The bacterial biomass can then be removed through effective protein skimming, providing a natural method of nutrient export.

Directions for Use

Place the recommended quantity of NP-Bacto-Pellets into a suitable fluidised media reactor with sufficient water movement to keep the pellets gently tumbling.

For best results:

  • Use a dedicated pellet reactor with adjustable flow.

  • Ensure an effective protein skimmer is operating.

  • Introduce the pellets gradually to allow the biological system to adjust.

  • Regularly monitor nitrate and phosphate levels.

  • Replenish the pellets as they are gradually consumed.

Important

Biological nutrient reduction takes time to establish, and results will vary depending on aquarium conditions, nutrient concentrations and bacterial activity.

Avoid reducing nitrate and phosphate too rapidly, particularly in established reef systems containing sensitive corals.

Tropic Marin NP-Bacto-Pellets 1000ml provide an effective, long-term solution for controlling excess nutrients naturally, helping reef keepers maintain cleaner water and a healthier marine environment.

Always follow the manufacturer's recommended dosage and usage instructions.
