Tonozukai's Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus tonozukai / Tonozukai's Fairy Wrasse)
A rare and exceptionally colourful marine wrasse, Tonozukai's Fairy Wrasse is admired for its vivid combination of red, orange, yellow, blue, and purple hues. Graceful and constantly active, this peaceful species is a superb choice for established reef aquariums, where its brilliant colours and elegant swimming behaviour make it a true centrepiece.

Peaceful. Mixes well with clownfish, gobies, blennies, tangs, cardinalfish, anthias, and other peaceful wrasses. Can be kept with other fairy wrasses in larger aquariums provided there is ample space and rockwork.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Completely safe with corals and most ornamental invertebrates, making it an excellent addition to mixed reef aquariums.
Diet:
Carnivore/Planktivore – feeds on zooplankton and small crustaceans. Offer a varied diet including mysis shrimp, enriched brine shrimp, copepods, finely chopped seafood, and high-quality marine pellets. Feed 2–3 small meals daily to maintain peak health and vibrant colouration.
Water Parameters:
- Temperature: 24–27°C
- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 250L
Care Level:
Moderate – requires a mature aquarium with stable water conditions, excellent water quality, and plenty of rockwork for shelter. Like all fairy wrasses, it appreciates open swimming areas alongside secure hiding places.
Top Tip:
A tightly fitting lid is essential, as Tonozukai's Fairy Wrasse is an excellent jumper. Frequent small feedings and peaceful tankmates will help this stunning species display its full range of colours and natural behaviour.
