Red Spot Flymo Blenny (Meiacanthus grammistes / Red-Spot Fang Blenny)
A small, active, and colourful marine species, the Red Spot Flymo Blenny is recognised by its elongated body, distinctive red spots, and playful “hovering” behaviour. It is a peaceful and engaging addition to reef and community aquariums.
Compatibility:
Peaceful. Mixes well with most community fish such as clownfish, gobies, tangs, and wrasses. Avoid aggressive tankmates that may harass smaller fish.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Harmless to corals and invertebrates. Provides natural movement and activity to reef setups without damaging other inhabitants.
Diet:
Omnivore – feeds on a mix of small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood, along with algae-based foods. Feed 2–3 times daily for optimal health and vibrant coloration.

- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 60–80L
Care Level:
Easy to Moderate – hardy once acclimated, suitable for both reef and community aquariums. Requires stable water conditions and hiding spots among live rock.
Top Tip:
Provide plenty of rock crevices for shelter. Regularly offer a mix of meaty and algae-based foods to maintain colouration and activity.
