Red Laser Tetra
Latin name: Hemigrammus coeruleus
The Red Laser Tetra is a striking and increasingly popular South American tetra, recognised for its glowing red-orange lateral stripe and shimmering metallic body. Peaceful, active, and highly effective in planted aquariums, this species creates an incredible display when kept in larger schools.

- Adult Size: 4–5 cm
- Temperature: 24–28°C
- pH: 5.5–7.0
- Tank Size: Minimum 60 litres
- Diet: Omnivorous — fine flakes, micro pellets, frozen foods, and live foods such as daphnia and baby brine shrimp
- Temperament: Very peaceful; best kept in groups of 8 or more
- Tank Setup: Well-planted aquarium with subdued lighting, dark substrate, gentle flow, and open swimming areas
