Key Features:

-
Compact Size: Grows up to 4–5 cm (1.5–2 inches), perfect for nano or small to medium-sized tanks
-
Energetic and Playful: Known for its climbing abilities and inquisitive nature, often seen exploring rocks, plants, and hiding spots
-
Hardy and Resilient: Adaptable to various water conditions, though a slightly brackish environment is ideal

-
Minimum tank size: 40 liters (10 gallons) for a small group
-
Temperature: 24°C–28°C (75°F–82°F)
-

-
Prefers a slightly brackish environment with a low concentration of salt (ideal for mimicking its natural habitat)
-
Requires plenty of hiding spots such as caves, rocks, and driftwood to feel secure
-
Secure tank lid is a must, as these crabs are known to climb and potentially escape
Compatibility:
-
Peaceful but Territorial: Best kept with other small, non-aggressive fish and inverts
-
Ideal tankmates include small tetras, livebearers, peaceful cichlids, and other small peaceful crustaceans
-
Avoid keeping with large, predatory fish that may stress or harm the crabs
-
Can be kept in small groups if enough space is provided, but territorial disputes may arise if there are too few hiding spots
Feeding Tips:
-
Omnivorous—feeds on a variety of foods, including plant matter, algae, live or frozen worms, and small insects
-
Will also accept sinking pellets, algae wafers, and small bits of blanched vegetables like spinach and zucchini
-
