Platinum Clownfish – Tank Bred Pair (Amphiprion ocellaris)
A truly striking variation of the classic Ocellaris Clownfish, the Platinum Clownfish features a near-solid white body with subtle silver highlights, creating a sleek, luminous appearance that is highly sought after by marine enthusiasts. Our pairs are tank-bred, offering enhanced health, hardiness, and compatibility with reef aquariums.
Compatibility:
Peaceful but can be territorial with other clownfish. Ideal for reef and community tanks. Mixes well with gobies, blennies, firefish, tangs, and other peaceful species. Best kept as a bonded pair to observe natural social behaviour.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Can cohabit with anemones and corals, making it a perfect addition to live rock and reef systems.
Diet:
Omnivore – accepts a wide variety of foods including high-quality marine flakes, pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and chopped seafood. Multiple feedings per day help maintain colour and vitality.
Water Parameters:
- Temperature: 24–27°C
- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 60L
Care Level:
Easy to Moderate – hardy and adaptable, suitable for beginners as well as advanced marine hobbyists.
Top Tip:
Tank-bred pairs often form strong bonds and are less aggressive than wild-caught counterparts. Provide plenty of hiding spots and consider a compatible anemone to showcase natural hosting behaviour.
