The Perugia’s Woodcat (Tatia perugiae) is a small, nocturnal catfish species native to the calm, shaded streams and tributaries of South America. Belonging to the family Auchenipteridae (driftwood or woodcats), this peaceful species is known for its charming personality, striking dark-and-light banded body, and secretive nature.
By day, Tatia perugiae tends to hide among driftwood, plants, and caves, perfectly blending with its surroundings. At night, it becomes more active, gracefully gliding through the aquarium in search of food. Their unique patterns and calm behaviour make them an excellent choice for aquarists looking to add something unusual yet peaceful to a community setup.
