Peacock Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus spp.)
A colourful and active marine fish, the Peacock Wrasse is renowned for its vibrant, iridescent coloration and graceful swimming. It adds movement and brilliance to reef and community aquariums and is a favourite among hobbyists for its playful behaviour.
Compatibility:
Peaceful to semi-aggressive. Best kept with other non-aggressive or moderately robust species such as gobies, clownfish, tangs, and dwarf angelfish. Avoid housing with overly aggressive tankmates.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Harmless to corals and invertebrates, making it ideal for reef systems.
Diet:
Carnivore – feeds on small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and finely chopped seafood. Will accept high-quality marine pellets or flakes. Feed 2–3 times daily to maintain health and vibrant colours.

Care Level:
Moderate – hardy once acclimated but requires stable water parameters and a well-established aquarium.
Top Tip:
Provide plenty of live rock and open swimming areas. Keep in small groups or pairs to encourage natural behaviour and reduce stress. Regular feeding of small meaty foods enhances colour and vitality.
