Orange Spot Goby (Gobiodon spp. / Orange-Spot Goby)
A small and colourful marine species, the Orange Spot Goby is recognised by its bright orange spots along a pale body. Its peaceful nature and active behaviour make it a delightful addition to reef and community aquariums.
Compatibility:
Peaceful. Best kept with other small, non-aggressive species such as clownfish, blennies, and small wrasses. Avoid aggressive or larger tankmates.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Harmless to corals and invertebrates, making it ideal for reef setups.
Diet:
Carnivore – feeds on small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and finely chopped seafood. Will also accept high-quality marine flakes or pellets. Feed 2–3 times daily for optimal health and vibrant coloration.

- Temperature: 24–27°C
- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 60–80L
Care Level:
Easy – hardy once acclimated, thrives in a mature aquarium with stable water conditions and plenty of hiding spots among live rock or coral.
Top Tip:
Provide ample small crevices and coral branches for shelter. Regular feeding with a mix of meaty foods encourages natural activity and maintains vibrant colours.
