Description
Orange Back Vampire Crab
Geosesarma sp.
The Orange Back Vampire Crab is a spectacular small semi-terrestrial crab, instantly recognisable by its vibrant orange colouration contrasting against its darker legs and body. Their unusual appearance, small adult size and fascinating behaviour have made Vampire Crabs incredibly popular for planted paludariums and naturalistic displays.
Unlike fully aquatic crabs, Vampire Crabs spend the majority of their time on land, so they require a properly designed paludarium containing both terrestrial and shallow freshwater areas.
