Mystery Wrasse (Halichoeres spp. / “Mystery Wrasse”)
A small, colourful, and intriguing marine fish, the Mystery Wrasse is admired for its vibrant hues and active, darting behaviour. Ideal for reef and community aquariums, it adds both movement and personality to your tank.
Compatibility:
Peaceful to semi-aggressive. Mixes well with other small to medium-sized community fish such as clownfish, gobies, tangs, and dwarf angelfish. Avoid aggressive or very large tankmates.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Generally harmless to corals and invertebrates. May occasionally dig in sandy substrates, which can help aerate the sandbed.
Diet:
Carnivore – feeds on small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and copepods. Will accept high-quality marine flakes or pellets. Feed 2–3 times daily for optimal health and coloration.

- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 120L
Care Level:
Moderate – hardy once acclimated, but requires a stable, mature aquarium with sufficient hiding places and live rock.
Top Tip:
Provide plenty of rockwork and crevices for shelter. Feed small, meaty foods regularly to maintain vibrant colouration and active behaviour.
