Description

Molly Miller Blenny (Scartella cristata / Molly Miller Blenny)

A hardy and highly useful marine species, the Molly Miller Blenny is prized for its algae-grazing abilities and energetic personality. With its mottled brown coloration and expressive behaviour, it is both a practical and entertaining addition to reef and community aquariums.

Compatibility:
Peaceful to semi-aggressive. Generally mixes well with clownfish, gobies, wrasses, and tangs. Can become territorial with similar blenny species, especially in smaller aquariums.

Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Harmless to corals and most invertebrates. Excellent for helping control nuisance algae and occasionally even pest aiptasia.

Diet:
Omnivore – primarily feeds on algae, biofilm, and detritus. Will also accept marine flakes, pellets, mysis shrimp, and vegetable-based foods. Feed 1–2 times daily alongside natural grazing opportunities.

Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: 24–27°C
  • Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
  • pH: 8.1–8.4
  • Minimum Tank Size: 60–80L

Care Level:
Easy – hardy, adaptable, and suitable for both beginner and experienced marine aquarists. Thrives in mature aquariums with plenty of rockwork for grazing and shelter.

Top Tip:
Provide plenty of live rock with algae growth for natural grazing. Keeping the fish well-fed helps reduce territorial behaviour toward other blennies or bottom-dwelling species.

Distances are measured “as the crow flies”, not by road.

Once your order is placed, we’ll be in touch to arrange a suitable delivery date and time.
Please note, delivery may take a little longer as we often group orders together to build an efficient delivery run.

Important: If you’re ordering a large aquarium, please ensure someone is available to help unload the van on arrival.

  • Express Pallet: 1–3 working days 75-500kg
