The Kuhli Loach has a slender, elongated body with a smooth, almost snake-like appearance, and its coloring is typically a mix of golden brown or tan with several dark vertical stripes running down its body. This stripe pattern makes it highly distinctive, especially when it slithers around the substrate, hunting for food. The loach's natural behavior includes burrowing into the substrate and hiding in plants, caves, or under decorations, so providing plenty of hiding spots is essential.
Although the Kuhli Loach is shy and nocturnal, it’s highly social and thrives in small groups of 3 or more. Watching them interact in their group can be a real treat, as they occasionally swim in small schools or wriggle through plants together. They are bottom scavengers, making them excellent helpers in keeping your tank clean by eating leftover food and detritus.

Tip: The Kuhli Loach enjoys aquariums with fine or sandy substrates, as it loves to burrow and explore the bottom. A tank with plenty of hiding spots, such as caves, plants, and decorations, is essential for this species, as it often seeks refuge during the day. Since Kuhli Loaches are primarily nocturnal, they do best in tanks with dim lighting, and you’ll find they’re most active in the evening or night when the lights are low.

Standard Parcel Delivery
Our standard parcel delivery charges are calculated according to the weight of your order and the available delivery service.
Orders placed before 12 noon may be dispatched the same day on our current dispatch days.
Express Pallet
75–500kg • Usually 1–3 working days
Designed for large and heavy orders that cannot be sent using our standard parcel service.
