Description

Hygger HG070 Cross-Flow Wave Maker – 12W, 18W & 25W

The Hygger HG070 Cross-Flow Wave Maker is a powerful, fully controllable aquarium circulation pump designed to recreate natural ocean currents in freshwater and marine aquariums.

Unlike traditional powerheads that produce a concentrated jet of water, the Hygger Cross-Flow Wave Maker distributes water movement across a wider area, helping to eliminate dead spots, improve circulation and keep waste suspended for removal by your filtration system.

Featuring an intelligent LED controller, five programmable wave modes and adjustable flow settings, the Hygger HG070 gives you complete control over your aquarium's water movement.

Available in three sizes – 12W, 18W and 25W, making it suitable for everything from smaller reef aquariums to large marine displays.

Five Adjustable Wave Modes

The Hygger HG070 features five different operating modes, allowing you to customise water movement to suit your livestock and aquarium layout.

  1. Classic Wave Pulse – Creates rhythmic pulses of water movement.

  2. Sine Wave – Produces smooth, gradual changes in flow.

  3. Constant Wave – Maintains a continuous, steady current.

  4. Random Wave – Varies the flow to simulate changing natural currents.

  5. Cross-Flow Wave – Creates broad water circulation throughout the aquarium.

The intelligent controller also allows you to adjust the flow strength and wave frequency, giving you greater flexibility than a conventional fixed-speed circulation pump.

Available Sizes – Which One Do I Need?

All three models offer the same intelligent control features. The main differences are their maximum flow rate, physical dimensions, recommended aquarium size and compatible glass thickness.

Specification 12W 18W 25W
Maximum Flow 5,000 L/H 7,000 L/H 9,000 L/H
Power 12W 18W 25W
Recommended Aquarium Up to 227L Up to 500L Up to 1,000L
Suggested Tank Length Up to 60cm Up to 80cm Up to 100cm
Pump Dimensions 12.2 × 3.6 × 3.3cm 21.6 × 5 × 3.3cm 28.2 × 6 × 3.3cm
Maximum Glass Thickness 8mm 10mm 15mm

12W – 5,000 L/H

The smallest model in the range, ideal for compact marine aquariums and smaller reef systems. Its shorter design makes it easier to position discreetly while still providing powerful, adjustable circulation.

18W – 7,000 L/H

The middle-sized model, offering increased flow and a longer pump body to distribute water movement across larger aquariums. A great all-round choice for medium-sized reef displays.

25W – 9,000 L/H

The largest and most powerful model, designed for bigger aquariums requiring substantial water circulation. Its longer body helps distribute water movement across a wider area, making it particularly useful for larger marine and coral systems.

Please note: Aquarium size recommendations are a guide. The ideal model will depend on your aquarium's dimensions, rockwork, livestock and required water movement. Flow strength can be adjusted to suit your setup.

Flexible Installation

The Hygger Cross-Flow Wave Maker can be installed at different heights to achieve different circulation patterns.

  • Upper positioning: Creates surface movement and wave effects.

  • Middle positioning: Encourages broad circulation around fish, corals and rockwork.

  • Lower positioning: Helps move settled debris into the water column for removal by filtration.

The magnetic mounting system allows secure positioning against suitable aquarium glass.
