The Hemiodus Red Tail is a sleek and elegant schooling fish native to the clear and blackwater rivers of South America. Recognised for their torpedo-shaped silver bodies and distinct red or orange tail fins, these fish bring both movement and shine to any aquarium.
A peaceful and active species, Hemiodus gracilis does best when kept in groups of six or more, where their natural schooling behaviour can truly be appreciated. They make excellent additions to large community or river-style aquariums alongside peaceful cichlids, characins, or catfish.
