Latin name: Hyphessobrycon moniliger
The Golden Tetra (Hyphessobrycon moniliger) is a rare and attractive South American tetra, prized for its warm golden sheen, subtle iridescence, and peaceful schooling nature. Active and easy to care for, it is an excellent choice for planted aquariums and South American community setups, where its golden colours stand out beautifully against natural décor.

- Temperature: 23–28°C
- pH: 5.5–7.0
- Tank Size: Minimum 60 litres
- Diet: Omnivorous — quality flakes, micro pellets, frozen foods, and live foods such as daphnia and baby brine shrimp
- Temperament: Very peaceful; best kept in groups of 8 or more
- Tank Setup: Planted aquarium with dark substrate, driftwood, subdued lighting, and gentle water flow
