The Geophagus Hondae Red Hump is a stunning South American eartheater cichlid, admired for its metallic body colours, elegant finnage, and the impressive red nuchal hump developed by mature males. Peaceful for its size and full of natural behaviour, this species is a superb choice for large South American aquariums.

- Diet: Omnivorous — high-quality cichlid pellets, frozen foods, insects, and vegetable matter
- Temperament: Peaceful; best kept in groups of 5+ with similarly sized calm tankmates
- Tank Setup: Fine sand substrate (essential for sifting), driftwood, rocks, open swimming space, and strong filtration
