The Geophagus altifrons "Xingu" is a spectacular South American eartheater, originating from the Xingu River basin in Brazil. Renowned for its shimmering blue-green iridescence, elegant finnage, and peaceful temperament, this impressive cichlid is a standout choice for large South American aquariums. Like all Geophagus, it displays fascinating sand-sifting behaviour, constantly filtering substrate in search of food.
