Description
Dracula Goby (Gobiodon sp. / Dracula Goby)
A striking and unusual marine species, the Dracula Goby is known for its dark body with bright, contrasting markings, giving it a “dracula-like” appearance. Its small size and peaceful temperament make it a fascinating addition to reef and community aquariums.
Compatibility:
Peaceful. Best kept with small, non-aggressive species such as clownfish, other gobies, and small wrasses. Avoid larger or aggressive tankmates that may bully or eat it.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Harmless to corals and invertebrates, ideal for reef aquariums.
Diet:
Carnivore – feeds on small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and finely chopped seafood. Will also accept high-quality marine flakes or pellets. Feed 2–3 times daily for optimal health and vibrant colours.
Water Parameters:
- Temperature: 24–27°C
- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 60–80L
Care Level:
Easy to Moderate – hardy once acclimated, requires stable water conditions and plenty of hiding spots among live rock or coral.
Top Tip:
Provide small crevices and coral branches for shelter. Regular feeding with a mix of meaty foods helps maintain its striking appearance and natural behaviour.
