Description
Domino Clownfish Pair (Amphiprion ocellaris – Domino Designer Clown Variant)
A striking designer form of clownfish, the Domino Clownfish Pair features a bold black body with contrasting white markings, giving a “domino” appearance. These are captive-bred ornamental clownfish, not damselfish, and behave like typical clownfish pairs with strong pairing bonds and defined territory.
Compatibility:
Semi-territorial but generally peaceful in community marine setups. Best kept with other clownfish, gobies, blennies, wrasses, and tangs. Will defend a chosen area, especially if hosting an anemone or rock structure.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Fully compatible with corals and most invertebrates. May become defensive around their host area but will not damage reef structures.
Diet:
Omnivore – feeds readily on marine pellets, flakes, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Feed 1–2 times daily.
Water Parameters:
- Temperature: 24–27°C
- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 100L
Care Level:
Easy – hardy and beginner-friendly, especially captive-bred pairs. Very adaptable once settled.
Top Tip:
Introduce as a bonded pair where possible. If hosting an anemone, expect increased territorial behaviour around that area, which is completely normal clownfish behaviour.
