Cutter's Cichlid
Cryptoheros cutteri
Formerly Cichlasoma cutteri
The Cutter's Cichlid is an attractive Central American cichlid known for its contrasting dark vertical markings, subtle blue-green iridescence and flashes of yellow through the body and fins. Previously classified as Cichlasoma cutteri, this species is now generally placed within the genus Cryptoheros.
Compared with many larger Central American cichlids, Cutter's Cichlids remain relatively manageable in size while still displaying all the personality, territorial behaviour and fascinating breeding habits that make cichlids so popular.
