Description
Coral Beauty Angelfish (Centropyge bispinosa / Coral Beauty)
A small and vibrant marine species, the Coral Beauty Angelfish is instantly recognisable by its deep blue body with bright orange highlights and peaceful personality. It’s a popular choice for reef and community aquariums due to its hardy nature and stunning colours.
Compatibility:
Semi-aggressive. Best kept with peaceful to moderately robust species such as tangs, wrasses, gobies, and clownfish. Can become territorial with other dwarf angelfish. Avoid very small or timid fish that may be stressed.
Reef Compatibility:
Mostly reef-safe. Occasionally nips at soft corals, sponges, or sessile invertebrates. Works best in aquariums with ample live rock for grazing and hiding.
Diet:
Omnivore – feeds on a mix of marine algae, spirulina flakes, and small meaty foods like mysis shrimp. Feed 1–2 times daily to maintain vibrant coloration and health.
Water Parameters:
- Temperature: 24–27°C
- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 150L
Care Level:
Moderate – hardy if provided stable water conditions, plenty of hiding spots, and a varied diet.
Top Tip:
Provide live rock for grazing and shelter to reduce stress and encourage natural foraging behaviour. Avoid housing with other dwarf angelfish unless tank size is very large.
