Chequerboard Cichlid
Dicrossus filamentosus
The Chequerboard Cichlid is a beautiful and delicate South American dwarf cichlid, instantly recognisable by the distinctive dark chequered pattern running along its slender body. Mature males are particularly impressive, developing elongated finnage, iridescent blue-green highlights and striking red and blue colouration through the tail.
Their small size and relatively peaceful nature make them an excellent choice for mature planted aquariums and carefully planned South American community setups.
