Giant Asian Mantis (Hierodula membranacea)
The Giant Asian Mantis is a large and impressive praying mantis species known for its powerful build, excellent hunting ability and striking green or brown colouration. Habitat
Giant Asian Mantises are arboreal insects that require plenty of vertical space for climbing and, most importantly, successful moulting.

- Decor: Branches, twigs, foliage and other climbing surfaces
- Ensure plenty of unobstructed vertical space beneath perches for safe moulting

Feeding
Hierodula membranacea is an enthusiastic ambush predator with an excellent feeding response.
- Diet: Flies, crickets, locusts, roaches and other appropriately sized live insects
- Young Nymphs: Fruit flies and other small feeder insects
- Nymphs: Feed approximately every 1–2 days depending on size and condition
- Adults: Generally feed around 2–3 times per week
- Remove uneaten prey, particularly when the mantis is preparing to moult
A varied diet of appropriately sized live foods is recommended.
