Caribbean Anemone (Condylactis gigantea / Giant Caribbean Anemone)
A striking and hardy marine invertebrate, the Caribbean Anemone is known for its long flowing tentacles and ability to add natural movement and colour to marine aquariums. It is often kept as a display anemone due to its bold appearance and relatively adaptable nature compared to many other anemone species.
Compatibility:
Semi-aggressive. Can capture and sting small fish or invertebrates that come into contact with its tentacles. Best kept with robust tankmates and plenty of swimming space between species. Not suitable for very small or delicate fish.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe with caution. Does not harm corals directly, but can move around the tank and sting nearby corals or invertebrates. Placement should be carefully considered in reef systems.
Diet:
Carnivore – feeds on meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, chopped seafood, and specialised anemone foods. Will also benefit from occasional target feeding 2–3 times per week.

- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 150L
Care Level:
Moderate – hardy once established, but requires stable water conditions, good lighting, and a mature aquarium for long-term success.
Top Tip:
Place securely in a rock crevice or sandy base where it can anchor properly. Ensure powerheads and equipment are guarded, as anemones may wander until they find a preferred position.
