Banded Trochus Snail (Trochus sp. / Banded Trochus Snail)
The Banded Trochus Snail is one of the most effective and popular members of a marine clean-up crew. Recognised by its attractive banded conical shell, it is an excellent algae grazer that helps keep aquarium glass, live rock, and décor free from nuisance algae. Unlike many snails, Trochus snails can often right themselves if overturned.
Compatibility:
Peaceful. Compatible with all reef-safe fish, corals, and invertebrates. An ideal addition to both reef and fish-only marine aquariums.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Completely safe with corals and ornamental invertebrates while providing excellent algae control.
Diet:
Herbivore – feeds primarily on film algae, diatoms, and other nuisance algae growing on glass, rockwork, and aquarium surfaces. Supplement with algae wafers or dried seaweed if natural algae becomes limited.
