The Anthony's Poison Arrow Frog "Ankas" is a stunning locality form of Epipedobates anthonyi, prized for its bold contrasting markings, small size and active behaviour. These colourful frogs make fantastic inhabitants for a carefully maintained planted vivarium and are particularly fascinating to observe as they explore, forage and interact throughout the day.
Despite the name "Poison Arrow Frog", captive-bred individuals do not develop the potent skin toxins associated with wild poison frogs, as these toxins are derived from their natural diet.
Habitat
Epipedobates anthonyi is primarily terrestrial but will readily make use of low-level branches, plants and other structures within the enclosure.
