The Alenquer Tiger Pleco (L397) is a beautifully patterned pleco, beloved for its bold orange and black tiger-like striping that sets it apart in any freshwater setup. Native to the Alenquer region of the Amazon River in Brazil, this eye-catching species is part of the Panaqolus genus and stays relatively small, making it suitable for mid-sized aquariums.
Like other wood-grazing plecos, L397 requires driftwood in the tank to help with digestion, as well as caves or shaded areas to retreat during the day. It thrives in well-maintained aquariums with stable water parameters and benefits from a diet of algae wafers, vegetables, and protein-rich sinking foods.
