Falcula Butterflyfish (Chaetodon falcula / Saddleback Butterflyfish)
A beautifully patterned marine species, the Falcula Butterflyfish is admired for its bright white body, bold black “saddle” marking, and vivid yellow accents. Elegant and active, it makes a striking addition to larger marine aquariums.
Compatibility:
Peaceful to semi-aggressive. Best kept with calm to moderately robust species such as tangs, wrasses, clownfish, and angelfish. May become territorial toward similar butterflyfish species in smaller tanks.
Reef Compatibility:
Not fully reef-safe. May nip at soft corals, LPS corals, feather dusters, and small sessile invertebrates. Best suited for fish-only or carefully monitored reef aquariums.
Diet:
Omnivore – feeds on mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, marine algae, and high-quality marine pellets or flakes. Feed 2–3 times daily to maintain health and vibrant coloration.
Water Parameters:
- Temperature: 24–27°C
- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 300L
Care Level:
Moderate – hardy once acclimated but requires stable water conditions, open swimming space, and mature rockwork for grazing and security.
Top Tip:
Provide a varied diet rich in both meaty and algae-based foods. Introducing a specimen that is already feeding well helps ensure a smooth acclimation and long-term success.

Livestock will normally be bagged when you arrive, helping to minimise the amount of time animals spend packaged. If you’d prefer your livestock to be ready beforehand, simply contact us in advance.

Distances are measured “as the crow flies” rather than by road.
Once your order has been placed, we’ll contact you to arrange a suitable delivery date and time. We often combine nearby orders into efficient delivery runs, so local delivery may take a little longer during busy periods.

Orders placed before 12 noon may be dispatched the same day on our current dispatch days.
Express Pallet
75–500kg • Usually 1–3 working days
Designed for larger and heavier orders that cannot be sent using our standard parcel service.
