Description
Black Ice Snowflake Clownfish – Tank Bred Pair (Amphiprion ocellaris)
A rare and visually striking variation of the classic Snowflake Clownfish, the Black Ice Snowflake Clownfish displays a dramatic pattern with deep black pigmentation and contrasting white markings. Our pairs are tank-bred, making them healthier, hardier, and reef-safe compared to wild-caught stock.
Compatibility:
Peaceful but territorial within their own species. Ideal for reef and community tanks. Mixes well with gobies, blennies, firefish, tangs, and other peaceful marine fish. Keep as a bonded pair or introduce a single fish to a tank first if adding to an existing clownfish community.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Perfect for live rock and anemone setups (may host in a compatible anemone).
Diet:
Omnivore – accepts marine flakes, pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and chopped seafood. Feeding multiple times per day encourages vibrant colouration.
Water Parameters:
- Temperature: 24–27°C
- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 60L
Care Level:
Easy to Moderate – hardy, adaptable, and perfect for both beginner and experienced aquarists.
Top Tip:
Tank-bred pairs often show stronger bonding and are less aggressive when introduced to a new tank. Provide plenty of hiding spots and consider hosting in a small anemone to display natural behaviour.
