The Cherry Shrimp is easily recognizable by its vivid red coloration, though it can range from pale red to a deep, rich cherry color. They are highly adaptable and can thrive in a variety of water conditions, making them an excellent choice for beginner and experienced aquarists alike. Aside from their attractive appearance, Cherry Shrimp are excellent scavengers that will consume leftover food, algae, and detritus, helping to keep your aquarium in tip-top shape.
These peaceful creatures are social and should be kept in groups of at least 6 or more, as they will feel safer and more comfortable in numbers. Their natural behavior of grazing along the substrate and on plant leaves is not only entertaining to watch, but it also helps maintain the balance of your tank’s ecosystem.
