Tiara Snails – Elegant and Efficient Cleaners for Your Aquarium
Add a touch of grace and functionality to your aquarium with the Tiara Snail (Tylomelania sp.), a stunning and active freshwater snail that not only enhances the beauty of your tank but also plays an important role in keeping it clean. Known for their intricate and elegant shell patterns, Tiara Snails are ideal for aquarists who want both a decorative and hardworking snail species in their aquatic setup.
The Tiara Snail is easily recognizable by its smooth, spiral-shaped shell, often featuring vibrant colors and patterns that mimic the appearance of a crown or tiara, giving them a regal look. These snails are not just beautiful but are excellent scavengers. They help maintain a healthy tank by feeding on leftover food, decaying plant matter, and algae, which helps reduce excess waste and maintain water clarity.
With their peaceful nature, Tiara Snails are an excellent addition to a variety of freshwater tanks, including planted tanks, community setups, and aquascapes. Their fascinating behavior and unique appearance make them a standout feature in any aquarium.

-
Water Temperature: 68–82°F (20–28°C)

-
Diet: Omnivorous – feeds on leftover food, algae, decaying plant matter, and detritus. Supplement their diet with high-quality snail food or algae wafers if necessary
-

Tip: Tiara Snails thrive in aquariums with plenty of live plants, as they can help keep the tank clean without harming the plants. They are not known to eat healthy plants but will consume any dead or decaying leaves. A good filtration system and regular water changes will ensure they stay healthy and vibrant. Avoid keeping them in aquariums with sharp objects or rough substrate that could damage their delicate shells.
