Compatibility:
Peaceful. Best suited to calm community species such as clownfish, blennies, wrasses, and small tangs. Ideal for reef aquariums with minimal aggression.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Completely harmless to corals and invertebrates, making it an excellent choice for reef systems.
Diet:
Carnivore – feeds on small meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, copepods, and finely chopped seafood. Will also accept sinking pellets. Feed 1–2 times daily.
Water Parameters:
- Temperature: 24–27°C
- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 80L
Care Level:
Easy to Moderate – hardy once established but requires a mature sand bed and stable conditions for natural burrowing behaviour and shrimp pairing.
Top Tip:
Provide a fine sand substrate and consider pairing with a compatible pistol shrimp to encourage natural burrow-building behaviour and reduce stress.
