Lemon Damsel (Pomacentrus moluccensis / Lemon Damselfish)
A bright and cheerful marine species, the Lemon Damsel is known for its vibrant yellow body and active swimming behaviour. Hardy and full of personality, it is a popular choice for reef and community aquariums, especially for aquarists looking to add bold colour and movement.
Compatibility:
Semi-aggressive. Best kept with other peaceful to moderately robust species such as clownfish, gobies, wrasses, and tangs. Can become territorial, especially in smaller tanks or as it matures. Avoid housing with very timid fish.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Harmless to corals and most invertebrates, making it ideal for reef setups.
Diet:
Omnivore – feeds on a varied diet including marine flakes, pellets, mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Feed 1–2 times daily to maintain health and vibrant colouration.
