True to the Geophagus genus, G. daemoni is an avid sand-sifter, constantly foraging through substrate in search of food—making fine sand essential for their natural behavior. Despite the intimidating name, this species is known for its calm temperament and does well in peaceful cichlid communities or South American biotope setups.
