Common Clownfish – Tank Bred (Amphiprion ocellaris)
A hardy and iconic marine species, the Common Clownfish is instantly recognisable by its bright orange body with white stripes and playful personality. Tank-bred specimens are ideal for aquariums as they are more adaptable, disease-resistant, and easier to feed than wild-caught fish.
Compatibility:
Peaceful. Can be kept with other peaceful fish such as gobies, blennies, and small tangs. Compatible with other clownfish species, but may become territorial when paired. Avoid aggressive tankmates.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe. Harmless to corals and invertebrates. Often forms symbiotic relationships with host anemones, although this is not required in captivity.
Diet:
Omnivore – accepts a variety of foods including flakes, pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Feed 1–2 times daily to maintain health and vibrant coloration.

- Temperature: 24–27°C
- Salinity: 1.023–1.026 SG
- pH: 8.1–8.4
- Minimum Tank Size: 80L
Care Level:
Easy – hardy and ideal for beginner to intermediate aquarists. Tank-bred individuals adapt quickly to aquarium life.
Top Tip:
Introduce into a peaceful community tank. Provide hiding spots with live rock or artificial decorations to reduce stress and encourage natural exploration.
