Sand Anemone – Light Coloured (Heteractis malu / Sebae Sand Anemone – Light Morph)
A beautiful and subtle marine invertebrate, the Light Coloured Sand Anemone is known for its pale cream to light beige tones and long flowing tentacles. It naturally inhabits sandy lagoons and adds gentle movement and elegance to larger marine aquariums.
Compatibility:
Semi-aggressive. Capable of stinging or capturing small fish and invertebrates that come into contact with its tentacles. Best kept with robust tankmates and plenty of open space. Clownfish may form a symbiotic relationship with this species.
Reef Compatibility:
Reef-safe with caution. Does not directly harm corals but is mobile and may sting nearby corals or invertebrates if it moves. Placement should be carefully considered in reef systems.
Diet:
Carnivore – feeds on meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and specialised anemone feeds. Target feeding 2–3 times per week is recommended.

Care Level:
Advanced – requires strong lighting, stable water conditions, and a mature aquarium with fine sand for proper anchoring. Sensitive during acclimation.
Top Tip:
Provide a deep sandy substrate where it can fully bury its foot. Ensure pumps and powerheads are guarded, as anemones may wander before settling into their preferred location.
