Been twice and got come tetra's and shrimp and got to say it's one of the best places I've been to, nice relaxed atmosphere when you go in and the tanks are kept nice and clean, and the advice is first rate, will definitely be going back

First time visit here today to collect an Uaru Triangle Cichlid. This aquarium is incredible! The options are vast, the tanks were all pristine! Staff were friendly, knowledgeable and easy to get along with. You could tell fishkeeping is their passion too. We will definitely be back in future! Thank you

Great shop, saw an advert online and after getting a tank for my two young boys. We decided to add some more fish, not knowing a great deal about what to pair in the tank, one of the lads talked us through what would be good pairings and the boys chose which ones they liked to add to the tank. The fish are super healthy and thriving and we have no issues with the pairings in the tank and the plants that were chosen are still very healthy. It's a shame we have no more space in the tank but would recommend anyone who wants fish to make a visit here.

This is a wonderful place! I've purchased many healthy fish and plants here, and the plants are thriving in my aquarium even without CO2 injection. The staff are incredibly helpful and welcoming.

First time visiting Tropical Supplies yesterday after coming across them online. The store is absolutely top notch, so much choice, the tanks are so clean and the staff couldn’t help you more. So glad I came across the store and will no longer go anywhere else! Cheers lads!

This is without doubt the best aquatic shop I’ve been to, it’s the go to for me and my bestie whenever we NEED something 😅. The shop is a thing of beauty and the tanks are always crystal clear and full of amazing stock but the customer care is insane, no matter how busy they are they always manage to have a little chat and a laugh with us and take care of our every need with a big smile. Side story: a few days ago we bought some fish from someone’s home not far from tropical supplies and the fish were given in a bucket and we didn’t have spare bags🙈 we were going to TS for blood worms anyway so I thought I’d take the bucket in and very cheekily ask for some fish bags to get them home safely, without a second thought the three of them were ready with bags and even bagged the fish up for us…a service i did not even expect considering I had bought the fish elsewhere ha! But honestly anyone thinking of visiting here…just do it, it will quickly become your second home 😘

Such a terrific place to stroll around! If you are here to actually buy then all the better. Staff are really caring and happy to advise someone who is returning to the hobby after 20 years. Such a lot has changed! Picture shows my new 252 litre tank with wood from this shop.

Been a few times now and bought fish, hardscape, substrate and fish food through them visits. Ideal for fish keepers and aquascapers. Friendly staff, good prices and just a lovely shop in general. I'd much rather travel a bit further to visit here than the closer to me aquatic shops. Ticks all the boxes in one visit. 👍🏼

My second visit here. Must say it's likely to be my go to place for fish, if they have what I'd like in stock. Despite when you pull up the place looking bland from the outside that all changes as soon as you step through the door. So many tanks with so much choice and it's awesome that their website shows the current stock which might save you a journey. Some great lighting inside and pretty much everything you might need including hardscape, substrate and chemicals/ food. The only thing they don't have as much of is plants (although those they do have are very reasonably priced), especially if you are wanting to do a proper aquascape. Also have two small tables with some small toys/ colouring crayons/ books for young kids which my 3 and a half year old appreciated and it kept him occupied whilst we looked. Would absolutely recommend, great stock and great service too. 👌

when my bestie first took me to tropical supplies I only had a 25ltr tank with a few barbs in, upon coming into the store I was absolutely blown away by the sheer size of the store the arrangements of all aspects of areas from accessories to a tank room, with also an area for you so test out how various wood stones and ornaments can appear in your own tank at home. I fell in love with a huge red tiger kong parrot and from here an obsession began. Frank as i named it is now homed to a 4ft tank as well as so many fish, many purchased here at TS. the staff are so welcoming cheerful and really helpful when your understanding of what fish can cohabit together, and has now became mine and the besties go to top store. the tanks are so clean and always well looked after and there is also an area for children to do a little drawing. high recommend tropical supplies with all there magical tanks and fab staff members!

Been to this shop a couple of times now and both times bought fish. They're my first fish so asked a lot of questions and the staff were really good with me and gave lots of advice. The shop isn't local to me but ended up going there after looking at their website (great website). Shop is clean, well laid out and well stocked. Some of the shops in my local area always seem to have dead fish in some of the tanks which doesn't fill you with confidence! All my fish from here have thrived. Would thoroughly recommend this place

Tropical Supplies has now become the go to place my partner and I shop to feed our fish addiction. Their fish and stock is always top quality and the lads go above and beyond to find whatever we need despite being specific. Even so much so they posted on Facebook to try and find me to tell me the betta of my dreams had come in, and reserved him for me without even knowing if I’d see it. The prices and reward system is great and the plants have been the healthiest we’ve had (and we’ve shopped in a few places before coming here). The lads always welcome us in, take an interest in our plans and we always end up coming out with armfuls of things. The shop itself is child friendly, with a table and colouring/toys for little ones and sofas which made shopping with a very active toddler a breeze. They sell drinks too so it is like a one stop shop, and the car park is just right outside. Furthermore, the fish stock is endless with tonnes of unique fish. I honestly could not recommend this place and the knowledgable staff enough. I wouldn’t go anywhere else now.

Made a visit to tropical supplies yesterday for the first time after seeing them on Facebook & mention in practical fish magazine awards. Travelled over 30 mins to see what was on offer & i wasn't left disappointed! Despite being under the weather, kieran was fantastic! He helped me big time in deciding whether to pick redtail tetra (never seen them anywhere before) even going out of his way to show me pictures on his phone of his own tanks with them in. Will definitely be back again for a visit. Joel

Amazing store with a vast selection of fish. Staff friendly and happy to provide advice on fish selection. Without a doubt the North Easts best fish stockist. Can't recommend Tropical Supplies enough and will definitely be back.

Absolutely outstanding shop Dan the owner is absolutely brilliant helped me out today with new pipe work that I desperately needed and it’s done the job perfectly

After a bad experience with another place buying some Ranchu, I found Tropical Supplies desperately trying to get all the right things I needed to look after my fish. As soon as I went in to the store Kieran and Dan could not be more helpful if they tried! There knowledge of all the fish they have is crazy considering how many different ones they have! They helped me treat my first tank correctly, and helped me set up a new bigger tank giving me all the knowledge I needed to get the tank cycled. Fast forwards a few weeks and I have went from having one Ranchu in one tank to a new tank with 20+ fish which they helped me pick out to ensure they were all compatible with each other. Honestly couldn’t recommend the place more as a beginner! Thank you all so much!
