Hi Andy,
Plants are not treated, as this could have an effect on fish and shrimp in the tank. I always advise customers to give the plants a good rinse in tap water or soak before adding them to the tanks.
There is lots of useful information on YouTube about safely adding plants to your tank without the risk of getting snails.
